Technical Support

This page is setup to help you understand some of the easy "fixes" for your satellite system.

The most important thing to always remember is, if a professional installed your satellite system, there is a reason for that. NEVER, try to realign your satellite dish antenna. Call your local dealer & hire him to come out & repair your system. If it was installed by a professional, then have a professional repair it for you.

Sometimes you may encounter a problem after the normal business hours of your local dealer. If you do, all providers have technical support at their call centers. Always remember, you will find some Customer Service Representatives that are very knowledgeable, however these individuals are trained in customer service and not in technical service. We are not saying that they are incompetent, but your installer would be your best source for repairing your satellite system.

Simple Fixes

1) As with most electronics, resetting your receiver is as simple as unplugging your receiver from its electrical current, i.e. unplug the cord from the wall, wait 10 seconds then plug the cord back into the outlet. The system will re-initialze within 2 to 3 minutes.

2) If you can't see a picture on your TV, make sure your TV is set to channel 3 or channel 4. If you have a VCR in line with your system, either make sure the VCR is turned OFF or that the VCR is on the same channel number of the TV. If your TV is on channel 3 then your VCR should be on channel 3.

3) If your remote control will not operate your system, make sure the "SAT" button is pushed. If it is still not working, replace your batteries (make sure that you insert them the way that the diagram shows), if it is still not working; make sure you have a clear line of sight to your receiver. If it still does not work, chances are your remote control is inoperable. Contact your local dealer to purchase another remote control.

4) If you have "snow" on your screen: Refer to #2, or make sure that the "TV/Video" button on your remote is in the right position.

5) If you have a DishNetwork system and it's telling you to perform a check switch, follow these instructions:

  • Press the menu button, scroll to system setup and press select
  • Scroll to installation and press select
  • From here, depending on the model that you have, scroll to multi-dish check-if that option is not available, scroll to point dish and press select.
